Application for Degree Certificate

Application for Degree Certificate

When you have completed all the required courses for your degree, you should ask for a transcript of records from the Service Point (Helsinki) or the Office of Study Affairs (Vaasa) and check that all courses have been correctly noted. To apply for your degree certificate, please fill out the application form and submit it to the Service Point in Helsinki or Britt-Mari Siironen in Vaasa, together with the above-mentioned transcript of records. You can apply for the degree certificate before your thesis has been approved if all the other courses have been registered. The Degree Certificate

When you graduate, you will receive the degree certificate and a transcript of records as well as a Diploma Supplement in English that provides a description of your degree and the Finnish higher education system. Diploma Supplement

All graduating students automatically receive a Diploma Supplement free of charge. The Diploma Supplement is a document for international use and follows the model developed by the European Commission, Council of Europe and UNESCO/CEPES. Solemn Conferment of Master's Degrees

A bigger graduation ceremony, the Solemn Conferment of Master's Degrees, which all the students who have been awarded the Master's Degree during the year can attend, is held once per academic year in Helsinki and once every eighteen months in Vaasa. The solemn conferment is the festive part of graduation where you receive a certificate entitling you to use the professional title "ekonom" in Finland.

The next solemn conferment will be held on Friday 22 November 2013 for those who have graduated from Hanken in Helsinki from December 2012 to November 2013. The next ceremony for graduated students from Hanken in Vaasa will be held on 22 March 2013.

Please inform jennie.bertula(at)hanken.fi about your new home address well in advance before the ceremony if you have moved, since the invitation will be sent to you by post a couple of weeks before the ceremony.
