Instructions for registration for autumn 2013
Registration for Spring term courses 2013 starts on August 6th at 12:00 GMT+3:00 in Helsinki in two steps and on August 8th at 12:00 GMT +3:00 in Vaasa.
On Tuesday August 6th registration starts for for language courses and courses on advanced level (Economics and Business Administration) in Helsinki.On Wednesday August 7th registration begins for courses in Economics and Business Administration on basic and intermediate level in Helsinki. Registration in Vaasa starts for all the courses on Thursday August 8th. Course registration is made online at the online registration service. You can sign up and pay for just one course at a time. After completed payment you can sign up for another course.
The course registration is done in 4 steps:
- Login to the online registration service
- Sign up for the course
1.Registration as a new user
If you are a new user (don't have a valid Hanken user ID) you have to register as a new user to the registration service by choosing " Without identification". The registration is only done once. If you have a Hanken user-ID you can skip this step
2.Log in to course registration
When you have registered for HankOpen you can log in to courses via "With user name and password". If you have a valid Hanken user ID you don't need to create a user name, but can log in with your Hanken user ID at "Hanken staff and students"
After log in, choose "Own transactions" > "Course registration", then choose "Registration for Helsinki" or Vaasa, fill in form and select course, click "Send form" and continue to payment. If the course is fully booked, you can queue for a place, then select "Save and pay later". If a place becomes available you will receive a notification to your e-mail. You have to take notice within three days to accept the place, after the given time limit
The payment page shows a form of your course selections. Please check that the information is correct and proceed with your payment. Most major credit cards are accepted. If you have a Finnish online banking code, you can proceed to payment by clicking the logo of your bank.
Important: You must"Return to the sellers service" after payment is completed! A confirmation message turns up when payment has been done successfully. You can print your receipt or save it as pdf. Please note that clicking the 'back' arrow is not possible during payment, only cancellation is possible before a completed payment.
Your successful course registration will be confirmed to you by e-mail.
You can see information about your course registration in the registration service under Own transactions - Monitoring. If the payment form has "Paid" as the payment status, your registration is completed.
Please note! If there is any PROBLEM with the service
-If after your registration and payment of a course your contact to the database is disconnected - a sign of "Error" shows up, please stay on the page and wait for a few minutes, do not leave the web site. Then click on the " Refresh" icon and hopefully you will again be connected.
-In case of error please absolutely do not register to the same course and pay again. In stead, write e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org . Send your name and the name of the course the regsitration of which was having trouble we can check the situation and make a reservation for you. If you know your case id number it will fasten up the procedure.
-You can check your course registration in the registration service under Own transactions - Monitoring. If the payment form has "Paid" as the payment status, your registration is completed.
