Aim

The aim of the course is to provide students with a deeper knowledge of supply chain management and corporate geography related issues by using, analysing and solving problems provided by case companies. It also aims at providing an understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of using different theoretical approaches and different research methods when solving real-world problems, and aims to provide the students the ability to write and critically analyze research related reports.

Pre-requisites

Three courses in supply chain management and corporate geography (min. 20 ECTS).

Attendance is limited to 20 students. Students in the major of supply chain management and corporate geography will be prioritised.

Instruction

The course is a project course which is conducted trough the use of teams, where each team plans and carries out a research-related project in cooperation with a company providing the real life problems. The projects include data acquisition through reading literature and collection if primary data at case companies. Seminars, lectures and supervision of projects is also included.

Examination

Examination is conducted through the use of team-based reports. Class participation is also required in the form of active participation and presentation and opposition of team-based reports. Assignments are valid for one academic year, thereafter if the course is not completed it has to be retaken.
