Mål
The aim of the course is to give a thorough understanding of the key concepts and
principles in intellectual property law (e.g. copyright, trademark, patent, design law). Topics include the requirements for protection, scope of protection and enforcement of IP rights in the European Union.

Förkunskaper
This course is part of the M.Sc. program in intellectual property law. Other students are welcome. However, the professor may limit the number of other students. There are no pre-requisites for students in the M.Sc. program in intellectual property law. Other students: Immaterial- och konkurrensrätt or similar basic course in intellectual property law.

MacQueen, H., Waelde, C. & Laurie, G. (2008). Contemporary Intellectual Property. Law and Policy. Oxford University Press.
Lecture notes, slides, articles and cases as pointed out by the instructor. All articles, slides as well as cases are required for the exam.
Examination
Written examination (60 % of the grade), which is based on the literature (including lectures), term paper (40 % of the grade)
Exercises require 75 % attendance.
