Managing the seeming contradictions within systems that combine family and business is the key to family business survival and success. Therefore the aim and learning goal with this course is to learn more about how both families and businesses deal with this system overlap. Some special topics are successions, family relations and conflict management.
Students learn the key theoretical models within family entrepreneurship. Major challenges in relation to succession processes are identified, and the basics for family business governance are familiar for students after the course is completed.
Introduction to Organization and Management
The course consists of lectures, workshops, case discussions, group assignments and meetings with business family members.
