Hanken School of Economics

Kristiina Mäkelä is an Academy of Finland -funded Post Doc researcher at the Department of Management and Organization at Hanken. She earned her PhD at Helsinki School of Economics in September 2006, which received the European Doctoral Programmes Association in Management and Business Administration (EDAMBA) 2008 prize for the best doctoral dissertation in Europe. She is currently based in the UK, sharing her time between a Tekes-funded project on Global Talent Management at Hanken, and an international research project on the commercialization of innovations led by professor Julian Birkinshaw from London Business School. She is also teaching at Henley Management School at Reading University. She has published on HRM and knowledge related topics in a number of international journals including Journal of Management Studies, International Business Review, Journal of Managerial Psychology, International Studies of Management and Organization, and International Journal of Human Resource Management.
