Information retrieval, Scientific communication, Open Access publishing

The theme for my doctoral thesis was cross-language information retrieval and my approach was from the system design and linguistic point of view. On the topic of information retrieval my research interests now consider information retrieval in the context of a research group in molecular medicine together with my doctoral student Annikki Roos.

My other main research interests are scientific communication and the scientific publishing process especially open access publishing. as a member of the OACS project team. Recently I have been looking at differences in open access publishing patterns in the fields of economics and biomedicine, and I am continuing this research.
