Research Interest

Two of my present project focus on the relationship between Academia and research. At an international level we try to map the different models for collaborating between research and industry especially regarding the rights to intellectual property. At a national level I am doing research that can provide some basic thinking for the implementation of the new legislation concerning universities' rights to inventions made by researchers.

I am also taking part in several other international projects in the fields of labour law and intellectual property law. In labour law I am participating in a project led by Professor Bob Hepple (Cambridge) on the making of labour law in Europe after 1945. The Swedish Work Life Institute (Stockholm) is funding a project on temporary agency work and its regulation in Europe where I co-operate with a research group lead by Professor Brian Bercusson (Kings College, London) and director Kerstin Ahlberg, Stockholm. I am also participating in a project lead by professors Marianne Levin (University of Stockholm) and Annette Kur (Max Planck Institute in Munich) on IPs in transition.

Selected publications

I am the author (or co-author) of several books and more than one hundred articles mainly in the fields of Intellectual property (IP) law, EU law, labour law and discrimination law.

I am the author of the book "Intellectual Property Law in Finland" (2001) and the editor of "Intellectual Property Beyond Rights" (2005).
