Examination

Registration for Examination

Students are to register for examinations at the latest 7 days prior to the given examination date. Registration is done by signing up on specific registration lists by the notice board.
Please note that only a student registered for an examination may take part in it.

Examination rules:

  • Be on time.
  • Be prepared to show valid identification papers.
  • Compulsory writing time is 60 minutes.
  • Only material approved by the examinator is allowed. Coats, bags, books etc. should be left by the door.
  • Make sure you write your name, matriculation number, date and name of the course on each examinationpaper.

Queue for exams (1.1.2006)
The system for registering for exams is being supplemented with a possibility to stand in queue for an exam. The deadline for registering for an exam is still 7 days before the exam date (at the latest) and this is the only way for you to guarantee that you have the right to take the exam.

If you have forgotten to register for an exam you can be admitted to a waiting list by personally visiting the ServicePoint in Helsinki or the Office of Study affairs in Vaasa, or calling (09) 4313 3219 ( Helsinki) or (06) 3533 714 ( Vaasa) during opening hours. The waiting list is "open" until the start of the exam, which means that you can be included as the last one on the list even just before the exam starts.

Students on the waiting list are allowed to take part in the exam only instead of students who have registered for the same exam but do not show up. This ensures that there is both a copy of the exam-paper in question and a suitable seat for the queuing student. Queing students are allowed to take the exam in listed order, which means that you should enter your name on the waiting list as soon as you realise that you have forgotten to register in time.
