Conference Venue

The workshop will take place at Hanken School of Economics at the Vaasa Campus in the centre of Vaasa. Hanken is located just some hundred meters from the city marketplace and your hotel. All other activities will also be arranged on venues within walking distance.

Vaasa with its 57 000 inhabitants, is a small town, but with 12 000 students, it is very much a student and university city. The Hanken Vaasa Campus was founded in 1980. Today it has about 500 students enrolled in bachelors or masters programs and another 30 pursuing a PhD. With 40 faculty members, the size of the school allows an intimate atmosphere. We are happy to welcome you in our beautiful, recently renovated buildings.

Vaasa is the heart of Ostrobothnia, on the West coast of Finland. Vaasa is said to be the sunniest city in Finland and with its closeness to the sea it is indeed a beautiful place. Vaasa is also part of Kvarken Archipelago - Finland's first World Natural Heritage Site. Besides this, Vaasa is a city with long industrial traditions and is a mix of small family owned business and bigger international companies. Among other things, Vaasa is known for hosting the largest energy cluster in the Nordic countries with enterprises developing energy efficient solutions for an international market.
