Onsite registration desk
Whilst enrolling at the conference onsite on the entrance floor you will receive your name badge and other conference material with your reference number which you can find in the confirmation email. The onsite registration desk at Hanken will be open during the conference hours.

Conference language
The official conference language is English. No simultaneous interpretation will be arranged.

Internet connection
Wireless internet connection is available at the venue.

Non-smoking policy
Smoking is prohibited at the conference venue.

Catering
Lunch and refreshments will be served during the breaks.

Transportation by air

Helsinki Airport

Airport transportation
Finnair provides regular bus transportation between Helsinki-Vantaa Airport and the City Terminal next to the Railway Station at a cost of approximately 7 €. Taxis between the Airport and the Helsinki city center cost approximately 40 € (30-40 minutes). Group taxis are also available at the airport (Yellow Line and Airport Taxi, cost approximately € 30 per person).

Transportation by sea
Helsinki is easily reached by ferries from Stockholm, Sweden (overnight by Silja Line and Viking Line) and from Tallinn, Estonia (several lines, duration 1.5 to 3.5 hours).

HELSINKI - THE CONFERENCE CITY

Finland is a member of the European Union and one of the five Nordic countries situated within sighting distance from the three Baltic countries in the south. In fact, Helsinki is often called the "Daughter of the Baltic". The city graciously combines the old and the new. Neoclassical buildings stand next to contemporary designs, such as the Finlandia Hall designed by the late Alvar Aalto.

Public transportation
The congress venue is located adjacent to the city centre. Public transportation in Helsinki is plentiful, offering buses and local trains as well as tram and subway lines and boats. A single public transportation ticket costs approx. € 2,50. A tourist ticket for one to seven days can also be purchased. Restaurants, shopping, tours, events etc
The hotels, restaurants, cafés, shops and the sights to see are within a walking distance in central Helsinki. This city is surrounded by one of the world's most beautiful archipelagos and vast natural parks, so Helsinki has plenty to offer.

Currency and credit cards
The official currency in Finland is Euro (€). Most major credit cards are accepted in hotels and shops. VISA, Euro- and MasterCard are accepted at the symposium registration desk. Personal or company cheques will not be accepted at the registration desk or shops. Traveller's cheques can be cashed in banks and exchange bureaus.

Tipping
Restaurant prices and taxi fares include the service fee. Tipping is at guest's discretion in restaurants and hotels.

Climate and clothing
The average day-time temperature in Finland in June is around 15-25°C (55-75°F). Evenings may be cooler. Fairly warm weather with occasional rain showers is likely. So you might benefit from packing both lighter and warmer clothes. Take an umbrella to keep the rain away!
