Welcome to the Department of Finance and Statistics

The Department of Finance and Statistics at Hanken has a broad international scope in its research and education activities in two subjects and on two campuses: downtown of Helsinki and Vasa. Our faculty is well connected to the finance and statistical communities in Finland and abroad.

We offer a comprehensive curriculum of BSc & MSc Programs in both finance and statistics. The Department also has two specialized English-track masters programs: Real Estate Investment Finance and Quantitative Finance. Faculty members are actively involved in the Certified EFFAS Financial Analysts program (CEFA/CIIA), customized finance programs PROFIN, Hanken MBA programs, Hanken & SSE Executive Education. Our PhD program in finance is integrated with the Graduate School of Finance together with other leading Finnish business schools.

The Department's research in finance covers several key areas of finance such as asset pricing and financial econometrics, corporate finance and corporate governance, law and finance, risk management, market microstructure and real estate. In statistics, we are strong in time-series econometrics, microeconometrics and financial matematics.
