Eero Vaara, Vice Rector and Professor in Management and Organisation at Hanken, has been awarded the Emerald Citation of Excellence Award. Vaara shares the award with his co writer Rodolphe Durand, Professor at HEC Paris, for an article published Strategic Management Journal in 2009.

Emerald, a publishing company, selects every year 50 scientific articles that are considered as the best and honour them with this award. The articles are selected from a very large and yet exclusive selection: 15 000 articles that are featured in the t0p 400 business and management journals worldwide. Eero Vaara and Rodolphe Durand received the award for the article Causation, Counterfactuals and Competitive Advantage that was published in the December 2009 issue of Strategic Management Journal.
