Hartwall Capital Ltd has donated 100 000 Euros to Hanken's Centenary Endowment Fund and the HANKEN 100 fundraising campaign. "Considering our basic principles and values, such as long-term ownership and entrepreneurship, as well as our interest in supporting the development of Finnish business life, it is a natural choice for us to contribute to Hanken's fundraising campaign", says Hanken alumni and Hartwall Capital board member Erik Hartwall.

The Hartwall company was founded in 1836 when Victor Hartwall established Scandinavias's first mineral water factory in Helsinki. During some 170 years the enterprise expanded within the mineral water and also soft-drinks and beer segments. In 2002 the company was merged with British brewery Scottish & Newcastle. When Heineken and Carlsberg acquired Scottish & Newcastle in 2008, the Hartwall family decided to leave the beverage industry and continue the family business in the earlier established Hartwall Capital. Hartwall Capital's operating principles are grounded in long-term ownership in companies with a strong connection to Finnish business life.

The HANKEN 100 fundraising campaign was launched in conjunction with Hanken's centenary celebration in 2009. The three-year campaign aims to raise 10 million Euros to be used for further strengthening Hanken's position as an international business school. To date, Hanken has received donations for just over 8.5 million Euros.
