Hanken alumni Magnus and Henrica Bargum have donated 125 000 euro to Hanken's Centenary Endowment Fund and the HANKEN 100 fundraising campaign. "Hanken has signified commitment for us both, and we've always appreciated the start the school has given us", they say. Mr and Mrs Bargum add that Hanken now has a unique opportunity to profile itself as the country's sole autonomous business school - "Hanken's focal areas are in every way relevant for today's students, for research and for the entire country's economic-political fundamentals". The donors feel that Hanken's attraction for students, researchers and teachers both in Finland and abroad are very much dependent upon strong private financing, which enables proper ventures in addition to the state's basic financing.

Magnus Bargum graduated from Hanken in 1971, Henrica Bargum graduated in 1973. As students, both were active in the student union's board and are long-time members of the student union's alumni association. Magnus Bargum received an honorary doctorate in conjunction with Hanken's centenary in 2009, and is a long-time member and vice-chairman of the board of Hanken's Foundation. Today Mr Bargum chairs the Foundation's delegation.

The HANKEN 100 fundraising campaign was launched in conjunction with Hanken's centenary celebration in 2009. The three-year campaign aims to raise 10 million euro to be used for strengthening Hanken's position as an international business school. To date Hanken has received donations for 4,7 million euro.
