About The Open University
Registration and inquiries for courses in spring 2009
Registration starts 9th December with an automatic telephone service at number 0600-304 00 at 8am-6pm. Since the service is only offered in Swedish, we ask You kindly to come and visit our open university office at Hanken 15th December for registration, Hanken, Arkadiankatu 22, Helsinki, 3,5 Floor.

On the course homepages (choose study year 2008-2009) you can find current information and course material. Courses in Helsinki and Vaasa. Period 1 & 2 = autumn semester, Period 3 & 4 = spring semester
Hanken's Open University was established in 1994, and it has become an increasingly popular channel for acquiring new skills and for getting experience in academic studies.
- Open university education is open to all, regardless of age and educational background. However, some advanced courses have entry requirements that need to be satisfied.
- The language of instruction is mainly Swedish. There are also some courses that do not require knowledge of Swedish and thus, even non-Swedish speaking students may apply for these courses. Courses offered by Hanken's Open University.
- Students at the Open University are not entitled to a Student Visa. Studying at the Open University is considered part-time and all-round educational, so general student benefits are not granted.
