The aim of the course is to analyze working life and organisations from a gender perspective. The course will focus on gendering processes and practices in organisations and working life, providing tools for a gendered analysis of organisation and management theories.

Lärandemål

Upon completion of the course students will be able to
• Understand gender as a diversifying factor and an analytical tool both in practical and theoretical work with and within work organisations
• Undertake a gendered analysis of organisation and management theories and of gendering processes and practices in everyday organisational life
• Critically evaluate the meanings of gender, ‘gender-neutrality’, gendered processes and practices as well as embedded power aspects in different organisational contexts
• Provide recommendations for how managers should consider gender aspects in corporate processes and practices and in work life in general

Bedömning och examination

The final grade is based on short papers (30%), group work (20%), term paper (40%) and contribution to class discussions (10%).
