The process Description HARIS - DHanken
· Researchers can upload and register documents in HARIS together with the researchers publications. For the journals registered in HARIS and in Sherpa/Romeo will the self-archiving policy be visible in HARIS. Each publisher's entry is coded according to one of these colour categories:

More information: http://www.sherpa.ac.uk/romeo/
· In the pre-print versions the author is kindly asked to add the following introductory text to the document:

· The administrator of DHanken also have the right to remove the document if it is the incorrect version, in this case the researcher will be contacted.

You can easily set the embargo-time-period in HARIS. When the time-period has ended the document will automatically be copied to DHanken.

· If the article has no embargo it will automatically be copied to DHanken after approvement by the library and also be publically accessible, Open Access. · IF the document should be provided with an embargo, it will be added to the document report in HARIS and withdrawn from DHanken. · The article is visible in DHanken in the collection JOURNAL ARTICLES AND CONFERENCE PAPERS - PUBLICATIONS SYNCRONIZED FROM HARIS.

Parallel Publishing in general
Scientific material that has been published outside of Hanken should still be included in DHanken, the school's publication archive. Parallel publishing means that an Open Access version of the article, with a unique Handle-URL, is available in DHanken. Before the article is loaded into DHanken it is important to:
· Discuss the matter with your coauthors
· Check the publisher's copyright policy in SHERPA/RoMEO
(
http://www.sherpa.ac.uk/romeo/)
How to submit:
1. Log in to DHanken with your Hanken username and password
2. Choose "Journal Articles and Conference Papers Submitted for Review" under "Under review".
3. Choose "Submit a new item to this Collection" and follow the instructions.
4. When the article has been verified by the library, the author will get the URL via e-mail.
5. The article is listed in the community "Journal Articles and Conference Papers", under its subject.
What is Open Access?
Open access refers to the open availability of publications on the internet. The library strongly recommends that research results are published in this manner.
Open access is important because:
- more researchers can make use of your findings, sooner.
there will be less redundant research.
you will get more citations, faster.
users outside of universities will find it easier to participate.
an increasing amount of funding depends on openly available results
