The Hanken library is open to everyone carrying out studies or research in the field of economics and business administration. It is a hybrid of printed collections, electronic material and a wireless study area. All of our services are available or described through the website. The library is also part of the national library network (see Melinda).

The library's most important responsibility is to ensure the availability of the latest information relevant to the academic departments. We also educate students and staff in information literacy and publish research produced at Hanken. (Including Master's theses. Also see the CRIS research database.)

Visitors total 820 per day, on average. The Nelli service attracts approximately 185 users per day. Since the turn of the century, the percentage of electronic material has been steadily growing. Students and staff can access everything even from home, whereas external customers (32 %) are free to use the library's computers.

Our main target groups (students, teachers and researchers) are outnumbered 10 to 1 by the e-journals the library subscribes to. This is well above the national average (3 to 2). Approximately 82% of our purchasing budget is used on electronic services. The purchasing budget itself is about 1,6% of Hanken's entire budget (1% national average for universities).
