Report on the Ownership Structure of Large Finnish Firms

In the latest issue of the Hanken Magazine, Pentti Professor Timo Korkeamäki talks about the conclusions on ownership and governance of large Finnish firms presented in a report he wrote with Ulf Johansson for the Prime Minister's Office.

Finnish companies need more active owners and less government ownership. Dispersed ownership results in companies without a master whereas government-owned companies lead to ineffective companies. These are some of the conclusions that Timo Korkeamäki, Pentti Professor of Finance at Hanken, and Ulf Jakobsson, economist, draw in a recent report ordered by the Prime Minister’s Office.
