Google Sales Skills Workshop April 23rd

Career Services in cooperation with Google brings you a workshop that aims to provide participants with the necessary skills to enhance their personal selling skills and to show the importance of sales while engaging in longterm partnerships.

Delivering profitable sales whilst consulting clients appropriately, maintaining high levels of customer service and a good relationship is a balance that sales professionals have to achieve in an increasingly challenging and competitive marketplace.

Content

This interactive workshop has been designed to help students develop the relevant professional skills required when working in a sales position.

Participants will learn about the consultative sales methodology which moves away from “solution pitches” to start having “results driven” conversations.

The workshop teaches a consultative sales approach aimed at finding solutions that exactly meet the client’s needs and produce the desired results. Students learn effective communication skills that facilitate understanding and trust; ask effective questions and genuinely listen to clients; and how to develop strong objection handling skills.

Google sales representatives will share best practices from their experience as Account Strategists for Google AdWords. After an online advertising and AdWords session, students will apply the learnings to authentic cases.

Preparation and requirements

No preparation is needed other than an open mind and the will to work collaboratively. However, participants should have an interest or consider working in Sales.

Seminar outline

The seminar will be split into an interactive seminar, where key elements of consultative selling are worked out jointly, and a practical part, where the key learnings will be implemented. For the latter part all students will be working in groups and will be presenting their results afterwards.
